Quick And Easy Burger Patties
My kids fist pump for days when they hear homemade burgers are on our meal plan. This recipe guarantees empty plates which leaves Mum pumping fists too.
Homemade patties may take a little longer to prepare than store-bought but the savings, the taste and the fact they are healthier far outweigh convenience for me. Depending on your choice of ingredients and your store’s pricing, these generally cost around $4!
With a few spices and pantry staples these patties will pimp your burgers and take them to the next level.
500g beef mince
1/4 cup of panko crumbs
1 tablespoon of Vegeta gourmet stock
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
This mix will give you six decent patties and a hot little tip from the Mumspo Mag team is to form your patties using an egg ring. They’ll fit perfectly within smallish size bread rolls and cook evenly!
Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl, and using your hands, mix for a few minutes until everything is well combined. I often do this the night before and pop the mixture in the fridge, but you can mix and grill straight away if you prefer.
Cook your patties on medium heat for approximately 4 minutes each side. When they are cooked to your liking, turn off the heat, add a slice of cheese to each patty for melty, cheesy goodness!
We add our patties to brioche buns (Aldi for the win) to accompany:
Mayo and sauce
Add or omit anything you please, a fried eg or pineapple don’t go astray with my kids either.
Enjoy! If you make these patties we would love to hear your feedback and serving suggestions.
